A Life Rooted in Faith For Carrie, God was not just a priority; He was her foundation. Her greatest prayer and deepest desire were for her children, her family, and every soul she reached to find eternal life in Christ. She didn’t just speak of her faith; she lived it every day. Whether she was serving as the Children’s Minister—a role that brought her immense joy—working with the local women’s shelter, or ministering to her community, Carrie’s life was a testament to the love of Jesus. She never met a stranger and had no enemies; to know her was to be loved by her. A Devoted Wife, Sister, and Mother While she poured herself into others, the highlight of Carrie’s day was always her husband. As her soulmate and the love of her life, she took immense joy in caring for him. Their bond was the center of her world. Carrie was also a fiercely devoted sister to her three brothers and two sisters. Her loyalty to her siblings was a constant thread throughout her life, rooted in the same deep-seated love she gave to everyone she held dear. A Mother to Many Carrie’s "everyday life" was her family. While she raised three biological children, her table and her heart were always open to more. Through foster care, adoption, and a unique ministry of taking in adults who needed guidance, Carrie became a mother to countless individuals. She treated every child—biological, step, foster, or friend—with the exact same devotion. This love extended fully to the spouses of her married children; she didn't see them as "in-laws," but as her own, caring for them with the same deep affection she held for her children. She was the perfect balance of grace and truth, knowing exactly when to provide a gentle bandage and when to offer stern, loving advice. Strength and Spirit Carrie was a woman of fierce independence and a legendary work ethic. She was a "prepper" in the truest sense—not just for herself, but to ensure that everyone she loved would always be taken care of. She was warm, funny, courageous, and beautiful inside and out. She loved her two dogs, Jenks and Lilly, and even the cats she cared for simply because she knew her husband loved them. She was the person who ensured that no one in her orbit ever felt forgotten or unloved.
