APRIL MARIE MEYER

April Marie Meyer passed away unexpectedly on April 9 at the age of 2 following a tragic farming accident. April lit up her family from the moment she was born to Rachelle & Jordan Meyer on January 9, 2022. She was the baby girl they all dreamed would join their, then, family of 1 girl and 4 boys. April got her name from her big sister Natalie. The two were best friends almost immediately. One of Natalie’s favorite memories was April asking her, “Come on dude, you wanna suggo [snuggle] with me?” Like her brothers and sisters, April was obsessed with all things farming and outdoors. She spent an unmeasurable amount of time with her mom and dad tending to the cows, goats, chickens, and her favorite, the lambs, “So cute!” Her two four-legged friends, “Russy” [Rusty] and Lady were always close by. When she wasn’t working on the farm she’d request her brothers, Layne and Kade, to play in the sand, “Let’s go up and play in the sand, dude.” Kade and April could be seen walking, hand in hand, heading for endless hours of digging. April absolutely adored her grandpa, Lee, and riding in the tractor with him every single day. The two would bounce throughout the farm and fields whispering stories to each other. They had a bond unlike any other. When it was time for some rest and relaxation, April would request to, “Turn on Daniel, dude,” from her brother Ashton or Bubble Guppies from her Papa Danny. If April preferred something quieter, her grandma Laurie, was there with a book about animals or an ear to listen to April practice her counting. April also had an eye for her grandma Leigh’s frog collection and would take every chance she’d get to sneak away with one, or two, or three to play with. Our family was not expecting the loss of April. We are devastated by this loss and will feel the absence of April forever. She was the most energetic, curious, and joyful soul to be around. She was a true gift from God and will be forever missed. April’s family loved her unconditionally. She will live on forever in the memories of her parents, Jordan & Rachelle Meyer, siblings, Natalie, Layne, Ashton, Gabe, Kade, & Layla, grandparents, Lee Meyer, Laurie & Jim Economy, Leigh Goetzinger & Danny Burrow, aunts and uncles, Justin & Kelly Meyer, Jacob & Marissa Meyer, Brittany Schulze & Tim Schock, Levi & Tiffany Schulze, and Ayden Goetzinger, her very special cousins Traeden, Rylan, Brevin, Mason, Josie, & Quinn, and close family friends Barton “Bart” Heintz and Derrick “Pipes” Nielsen. Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran in Caledonia, MN – 650 N Kingston St - on Saturday, April 13. Visitation will be from 9-11. Funeral service begins at 11.
