GLADYS MARIE MYHRE

November 23, 1924 - March 28, 2019

Gladys Marie Myhre of Caledonia, MN passed on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the age of 94 at Tweeten Lutheran Health Care Center, Spring Grover, MN She was born on November 23, 1924, in Calledonia,to Emil and Lena (Hemmer) Demmer. Gladys graduated in 1943 from Loretto High School, Caledonia, MN. She worked at Dewitz Department Store before she met the love of her life. She married Arlo E. Myhre on February 17, 1947. They farmed in Wilmington Township until 1980. They moved to Caledonia where Gladys was employed by Caledonia Care and Rehab for 30 years. She loved gardening, baking and making fleece blankets for friends and family. Gladys is survived by her children, Maureen (Michael) Richardson of Blaine, MN, Gregory (Liz) Myhre of Caledonia, Daniel (Sandra) Myhre of Eagan, MN, Susan (Dean) Wiste of Spring Grove, MN, and Mark (Barb Gittens) Myhre of Spring Grove, MN; grandchildren, Jessica (Justin) Weinberg, Katie (Kyle) Weinberg, Ann Myhre, Chris (Karli Mahr)Myhre, Tiana Downs, Brett (Molly) Wiste, Nathan (Malory Sedbrook)Wiste; great grandchildren Aria Weinberg, London Weinberg, Madilyn Weinberg, Hazel Weinberg, Jacelyn Downs, Jolene Myhre, and future baby Wiste in July 2019; sisters, Lorraine Myhre, Onalaska, Wisc., and Florence (Mike) Anderson, Ankeny, IA. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lena Hemmer (Demmer); father Emil Demmer; sisters, Lucille (Marlin) Sprunk, and Violet (Earl) Rud; brother, Lawrence "Bud" (Jean) Demmer, and brother in law, Albert Myhre, Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am on Monday, April 1, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Thomas Jennings will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Visitation will be from 2-5 pm Sunday, at St. Mary's Holy Family Hall, where a prayer service will be held at 5 pm. Visitation will also be from 10-11 am Monday morning before the service at the church.
