NATHAN J KOCHIE

NATHAN J. KOCHIE Nathan J. Kochie, 38, of Poughkeepsie, New York, and formerly of Hokah,MN, passed away on August 22, 2019 at Memorial Sloan Kettering. He was born June 19, 1981, in La Crosse, WI, the son of James and Jo Ann (Senn) Kochie. Nate was employed as a Mechanical engineer at IBM Poughkeepsie and has lived there since 2011. Nate received his education from many colleges and universities, including: his Masters in Engineer Management from Clarkston University; his Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering from U of MN; and his Associates in HVAC design from Dunwoody Institute. On August 21, 2019, Nathan married Kristine R. Carpenter in New York City. Nate loved everything automotive, especially his almost vintage BMWs. He was always up for an adventure.The highlights of which were his 3 trips to Germany and Europe; once as an exchange student, once with friends, and once as an engineering intern. Nate hated to fly but loved a road trip. On many of the trips the direct route was usually never an option. He wouldn't hesitate to take a detour to visit a friend or see something interesting along the way. He also enjoyed cooking, trying new unique foods, many genres of music, and rarely missed a social outing with friends. Nate has 5 nieces and nephews and the time he spent with them was cherished and priceless to him. They didn't see him often, but when they did they quickly became captivated by him. Playdough parties were among the tops with Uncle Nate. He was taken from us much too soon and will be dearly missed by many people around the world. Nathan is survived by his wife, Kristine; his parents James and Jo Ann Kochie; his brother, Jon (Shannon) Kochie; his sister, Adriane (Michael) Fisher;nieces and nephews, Harper, Cooper, Connor, Mikah, and Aiden; and his mother and father in law, Donald and Lynn Carpenter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am on Saturday, September 28, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Hokah, MN. Visitation will be from 10-11 am Saturday before the service at the church. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Hokah. Memorials may be given in Nate's name to the Leukemia and lymphoma Society at LLS.org.
