NANCY JANE (FITZPATRICK) POHLMAN It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Jane (Fitzpatrick) Pohlman on December 11, 2018, at the age of 70, at her home surrounded by her family, after a valiant fight with cancer. As a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sibling and friend, Nancy touched the lives of all she knew. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends, and many supporters carried her through these last few months. Nancy was born October 28, 1948 to Edwin and Betty (Schrabeck) Fitzpatrick. She grew up outside of Brownsville, MN, and she graduated from Loretto High School in 1966. On October 4, 1969, she married Roger Pohlman. Nancy worked at various places in Caledonia, but most recently at ABLE. Survivors include her children, Lori (Todd) Duerwachter of LaCrescent, MN, Daniel Pohlman of Lewiston, MN, Kelly (Mike) Thomas of Houston, MN, and Bob Pohlman of Caledonia; seven grandchildren of whom she was so proud of, Hayley (Deven), Cierra, Summer, Storm, Devin, Katlyn, and Avery; and one great grandson, Cashton, who lit up her life. Nancy is also survived by seven siblings, Joyce Beyer of Coon Rapids, MN, Judy Kresge of New Hope, MN, Donna (Nick) Stadtler of Caledonia,Dennis (Kathy) Fitzpatrick of Lakeville, MN, Mike (Carolyn) Fitzpatrick of Caledonia, Donnie (Shirley) Fitzpatrick of Hokah, MN, Tom (Vicky) Fitzpatrick of Caledonia, and many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; her grandson, Logan; her parents and brothers in law, Dick Beyer and Wally Beyer. Nancy enjoyed family time, be it shopping with her daughters and grand daughters, going to the casino with her sister, her Vicky nights, or just visiting with her family. But her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, and being called "GiGi" by her great grandson. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter and joking around will never be forgotten. And if there was a dance floor, you could bet you would see her on it. The family would like to thank Gundersen Hospice, our family and friends, Sr. Michaeline, Fr. Stephen, and Fr. Jennings for their prayers and support,and especially our Aunt Joyce who has been at our mom's side since this journey began. A Celebration of Life will be at 12 noon on Saturday, December 15th, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Stephen Abaukaka will officiate. Visitation will be from 11-12 before the service at the church, and a luncheon will follow in St.Mary's Holy Family Hall. Nancy continued to give after life by donating her body to the Mayo Medical School in Rochester, MN. Burial will take place at a later date.
