Thomas Trehus Renslo, 87, passed away with family by his side Friday, May 11, 2018, at Tomah VA Medical Center.

Tom was born October 3, 1930, to Ole and Gunhild (Trehus) Renslo in Caledonia, MN. He graduated in 1948 from Caledonia High School. Tom enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1949. After serving in the military, Tom worked at Trane Company for 42 years. He marriedHelen Rice on September 10, 1960. They made a home in Caledonia and raised two daughters.

Tom had a strong Christian faith. He was an avid reader, and enjoyed the outdoors, playing tennis, gardening, and working on projects. Tom will be remembered for his sense of humor and generous spirit.

Tom is survived by his daughters, Joyce (Bob) McCarthy, and Jane Renslo; grandchildren, Maggie (Andy) Eyre, Clare (Josh) O’Brien, Katie (Ryan) Mauss, Nels Ure, and Stig Ure; great-grandchildren, Gus and Ingrid Eyre. Tom is also survived by his sisters, Gert (Dick) Franzmeier, and Barb (Bob) Boyd; sisters-in-law, Jean Wenig, Carol Meyer, Gerry Rice, and Sheryl Renslo; brothers-in-law, John (Muriel) Rice, and Myron (Jan) Rice. Tom is survived by nephew David Renslo and many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife; Helen (Rice) Renslo, parents; brothers, Albert (Edith) Renslo, Robert Renslo; brothers-in-law, Donald (Colene) Rice, Richard (Helen) Rice, Norman Rice, and Lee Wenig.

A Service of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 21, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Caledonia. Pastor Steven Meyer will officiate and burial with military honors will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Caledonia. Visitation will start Sunday evening 4-6 p.m. andMonday 10 a.m. before the service at the church.
