Helen Schleich celebrated a long and graceful life, and, now, has accepted eternal rest in the arms of our Lord. As a native of the Dakotas, her spiritual faith gave her strength through prayer and the physical strength of sheer determination.

Family was center to who she was and all she did. She was the beloved wife of Cletus, and the mother of four children: Sandy (Stan), Linda (Allan), Judith and Alan. Helen had eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In death, she rejoins Cletus, her parents, three sisters and a brother.

Her talents and interests were abundant. She was an accomplished seamstress, incredibly well-read and avid reader, and a scholar of local and worldly affairs. Helen was a poet, a lover of instrumental music, a gardener who graced the earth with bright colors, a comfort food cook, and a prize winning bread baker. She was a partner and a team player in running Holler Hill Farm with Cletus. Like Mark Twain, she loved to travel, oftentimes, to historical sites, as well as short journeys following the beaten back roads where she discovered the unique "little things" in life.

Her life will be celebrated by family and friends at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Caledonia on April 10th of April, with a rosary lead by Sister Michaeline at 9:00 a.m. and Mass officiated by Father Fasnacht.

The family requests that any donations be made to St. Mary's School, Caledonia, MN or Boston Children's Hospital, Cardiac Care Unit, Boston, MA.

God Bless everyone who touched her life. Mom, Grandma, Great Grandmother and Helen you will be forever in our hearts.
