Marjorie M. Amherdt, 79, of Caledonia, MN passed away Monday January 15, 2018 at Caledonia Care and Nursing Home.

Marge was born the daughter of Richard and Margaret (Williams) Blount on July 6, 1938, in Portage WI. She was a graduate of Portage High School. On July 16, 1960, she married the love of her life, Donald Amherdt, in Portage.

As a young girl you could usually find her on the back of a horse. Later in life you’d find her behind the wheel of the school bus she drove for Jenkins Transport. She also worked for Brunt’s CafĂ© as a cook and later retired from Convertor Concepts in Pardeeville, WI. She was also a 4-H leader for the Caledonia Victory 4-H Club in Portage for many years.

Marge enjoyed taking care of her flower beds, sewing and baking. She and Don liked to watch the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers. They also went on many trips and family vacations together.

She is survived by children Constance (Michael) Coron Wautoma, WI and Richard (Tami) Amherdt La Crescent, MN. 3 granddaughters Erin and Brenna Coron, Wautoma, Megan (Jordon) Salazar, Pembina, ND. 2 great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Freya Salazar. Brother in laws James (Gladys) Amherdt and Otto Amherdt. Sister in law Betty (Gilbert) Roessler. She is further survived by other nieces, nephews and friends.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Donald in July, 2017, her parents Richard and Margaret Blount, 2 sister in laws Louise (Paul) Bowers and Polly (Fred) Sanders.

Private memorial for both Don and Marge will take place this summer.
