Mary, I just heard about Joe passing. I am so saddened to hear that. I so enjoyed working with you and Joe. The first word that comes to my mind when I think about Joe is "gentleman". Joe was such a gentleman and gentle soul. I pray God's comfort to you and your family during this sad time.

On behalf of the Federal Highway Administration and the Operations Technical Service Team of the Resource Center, it is with great love and grace we wish to send our condolences to the McCarthy Family.

Jim McCarthy a member of our Team; and an essential member of our Federal Highway Administration Family. Jim is a testimony to the spirit and life of Joseph Patrick McCarthy; and his wife Mary.

While we did not have the honor of knowing Mr. McCarthy directly, it is without question that the son Mary and he raised is of the finest character, infused with the spirit of helping others, demonstrating kindness and patience without hesitation.

We wish peace in the coming days to the entire McCarthy Family.
