Ronnnie L. Colsch, 68, of Freeburg, died Thursday, September 22, 2016, near Hinkley, MN from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Ronnie was born July 25, 1948, in La Crosse, WI, to Edward and Evelyn (Mulholland) Colsch, Sr. He joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam and received various medals including the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal with V Device, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, Army Commendation Medal with V Device, Air Medal Combat Infantryman Badge and 1st Oak Leaf Cluster. When he returned, he farmed with his father, logged, and in later years he drove school bus.
He is survived by his 6 siblings, Margaretta (Scott Carrol), Ariel (Pete) Gilbertson, Evelyn (Edward) Bebee, Raymond (Dolly) Colsch, Cobb (Karen) Colsch, Calvin (Donna) Colsch; and many nieces and nephews, including his special niece, Trina Alfson.
Services with military rites by the New Albin VFW will be at 1 pm, onThursday, September 29, at the Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery, Preston, MN.
