Helen G. Frank, 95, of Caledonia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 23, 2015 at Gundersen Tweeten Health Care Center in Spring Grove, MN.
Helen was born October 3, 1920, in Mabel, MN to Helmer and Ida (Wermager) Ganrude. She moved to the Caledonia area where she attended school and graduated in 1938. After graduation, she began working for N.W. Bell Telephone Co. She held several positions there; telephone operator, chief operator, and she also worked in the commercial department. She married Henry Frank on June 27, 1946. In addition to spending their winters in Florida, they enjoyed dancing and traveling. Henry passed away July 21, 2012.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Mary (Richard) Leary of Caledonia and Carol (Tom) Klug of Racine, WI; 7 grandchildren, Erin, David, Sarah, Jason, Jacob, Sarah and Leslie; 10 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Mark Sullivan; a son in law, Bill Sullivan; 2 sisters, Mildred Quarve and Alma Stafne; 2 brothers, Odin and Leo Ganrude; and a nephew, Mark Ganrude.
Funeral services will be at 11 am on Thursday, January 28, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Caledonia. Rev. Steven Meyer will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia is assisting the family.
