Mary Lewis, 92, of Caledonia, died peacefully on
Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Caledonia Care and Rehab in Caledonia. She
was born April 6, 1923, in Caledonia to James and Lena (Schobert)
Carroll. Mary graduated from Loretto High School in Caledonia and on
June 21, 1945 she married Bob Lewis. Bob preceded her in death on
November 26, 1992.
Mary worked with Bob, side by side on their farm, where they raised
their family. She was a 4-H leader, member of the Homemakers Group and
Circle A Saddle Club. Having lost her son Roger in the Vietnam War, she
was a Gold Star Parent and also a member of the Caledonia American
Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling with Bob and enjoyed playing
cards. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and it's Council of Catholic
Mary is survived by 4 daughters, Helen (George) Hill of Houston,
MN, Jean (Karl) Stokman of Eitzen, MN, Beth (Tom) Baxter of Waukon, IA,
and Barb (Dave) Droivold of Spring Grove, MN; 11 grandchildren; 14 great
grandchildren; a sister, Betty Ferguson of Rochester, MN; and special
friends, Don and Fran Gerber of Strasburg, OH.
In addition to her husband, son, and parents, she was preceded in
death by an infant grandson; 2 sisters, Dorothy and Lorraine; and 3
brothers, John, Verle, and Bill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am onMonday, August 10,
at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Matt Fasnacht will
officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Caledonia.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday, at St. Mary's Holy Family
Hall, where there will be a prayer service at 7 pm. Visitation will also
be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. McCormick
Funeral Home, Caledonia is assisting the family with arrangements.
