Mary “Elaine” Fisch, 88, of Caledonia passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, November 14, 2014, at Lake Winona Manor in Winona, MN.
McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia is assisting the family.
Elaine was born December 29, 1925, daughter of Peter and Margaret (Longueville) Koenig. On May 4, 1948, she married Charles Leon Fisch of Caledonia. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1990. Elaine worked at the Caledonia High School where she enjoyed cooking for the kids. She also worked at the DeWitz Shoe Store.
Elaine has been the leader of the Prayer Network for St. Mary’s Catholic Church, as well as a member of the CCW and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Elaine is survived by five sons, Richard Fisch of Missouri; Michael (Haze) Fisch of Stoughten, WI; Ron Fisch of San Antonio, TX; Jim (Laurie) Fisch of Winona, MN; and Paul (Lynn) Fisch of Caledonia, MN. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Danny (Cheryl) Fisch; Dawn Reining; Erin (Jeremy) Bauer; Russel Fisch and Brooke Fisch; Stephanie (Jon) Provost; Kevin (Jillene) Fisch; Colette Fisch; Brian Fisch; Andy Fisch; Kelsey (Jason) Smith; Aimee (Kevin) Klinski; and Erik (Erika)Fisch; as well as 8 great-grandchildren and a sister, Ann Koel, of Caledonia, MN. Elaine was preceded in death by a brother, Jerald Koenig, and a great-granddaughter, Josie.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, November 17, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery, both in Caledonia, MN. Father Matt Fasnacht will officiate.
Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, November 16, at Holy Family Hall, next to St. Marys Church. They may also call one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
The family would like to thank Sister Michaeline, Jeannie Kruse, Pam Mechtel, Shelly Hiser, Sue Tostenson and Jackie Vatland for their compassionate care and companionship as well as friends and family for their love, support, and prayers.
