William Arthur Klucas, 72, Brownsville, MN died on Tuesday, April 22nd from a rare form of cancer. Bill was born July 8, 1941 in Vermillion, Ohio to Charles and Agnes (Leimeister) Klucas. He received his Bachelors of Science from Ashland University, Ashland, OH.
He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and Townsend Wake Forest High School receiving his B.S. degree from Ashland College, Ashland, Ohio.

Bill married Judith Moos on February 7, 1962 in Elyria, Ohio. They were later divorced. He married Colleen (Finley) Postier on July 1, 1989.

His professional career included journalism (The Beacon Journal in Akron and the Chronicle-Telegram in Elyria, Ohio); political consultant/campaign manager in national and statewide political campaigns including several Presidential, U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, governor, state legislature and mayoral elections including Political Field Director for the Republican Governors Association.
Professionally Bill scouted for several NBA teams and coached in the CBA and ABA where he won over 500 games. He coached internationally at Saskatoon (National Championship); Winnipeg, Canada and Palmeiras, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Collegiately coached at the University of WI-Milwaukee, University of MN, Ohio State University and Ashland University.

Bill is survived by Colleen Klucas; his children, David L. (Denise) Klucas, Jeffrey A. (Dara Howell) and Suzanne (Bert) Eggelmeyer; step daughter, Megan (Jayson) Shelstad-Dahl; and five grandchildren – Bethany, Elizabeth, Jacob, London and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Spencer (Doc) Klucas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am, Monday, April 28th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 604 Adams Street, Brownsville, MN. Visitation will be Sunday, April 27th from 5 to 7 p.m at Breza Hall, next to the church. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service Monday. A Memorial service will be held in Ohio at a later date. Memorials are preferred to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Council of Catholic Women.
