James T. McDonald, 89, of Caledonia, died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System, in LaCrosse, WI. He was born April 18, 1922 in Superior, WI to James and Julia (McNulty) McDonald, Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army AirCorp and he served his country during WWII in the Pacific. He married Karen L. Prahl and she preceded him in death in 2009.
James worked as Area Manager for the Burlington Railroad. He lived in Duluth, MN until 1974 when he moved to Brooklyn Park, MN. He moved to Caledonia in 2010.
He is survived by his 3 children and 6 grandchildren, Sharen Lapham and children, Emily and Landon; Jeff McDonald and children, Sam and Max; and Nancy (Steve) Larson and children, Zach and Brooke. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Karen, and 2 sisters, Margaret and Kathryn. Graveside services with military honors will be on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11:00 am at Park Hill Cemetery, 2500 Vermillion Rd., Duluth, MN.
