Dorothy E. Klug, 89, of Caledonia, died Saturday,
January 28, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born
December 6, 1922, in Hokah, MN to Aloysius "Louis" and Julia (Feldmeier) Wieser. Dorothy graduated from St. Peter Catholic High School in Hokah and
on June 8, 1943, she married Rainer Klug at St. Peter's. He preceded her
in death on Dec. 17, 1981.
Dorothy was the ultimate mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
While raising her nine children on the farm, her flower and vegetable
gardens were her pride and joy. After retiring from the farm, she worked
many years at Mary Ann's Floral, where she shared her knowledge of
gardening. She was always a true caregiver, taking care of all. She was
a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Caledonia, where she was
active in many organizations. Dorothy's door was always open with the
coffee pot on and with a warm welcome for everyone.
She is survived by her 8 children; Ted of Caledonia, Steve (Anna) of
Spring Grove, MN, Bernie (fiance, Martha) of Blaine, MN, Ken of Little Canada, MN, Marilyn (Don)
Cook of New Hope, MN, Al (Sue) of Caledonia, Deb (Larry) Hanan of Hokah,
and Dan of Caledonia; 31 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; a
brother, Bernard (Trudy) Wieser of Hokah, brother and sister in law,
Howard and Mary Meyer of LaCrescent, MN; and sister in law, Helen Klug
of Caledonia.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son,
Len; grandsons, Paul and Edward; great grand daughter, Alexis; and sisters,
Sr. Aloysius and Sr. Juliana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am on Thurs., Feb.2, at St.
Mary's Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif will officiate
and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8
pm Wed., at Holy Family Hall, next to the church, where a prayer service
will be held at 7:30. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the
service at the hall on Thurs. morning. McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia
is assisting the family. |
