Norman F. Corpstein, 80, of Caledonia, died surrounded by his family on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011 at Caledonia Care and Rehab in Caledonia.
He was born May 4, 1931 in Caledonia to Leander and Armella (Schleich) Corpstein. He graduated from Loretto High School in Caledonia in 1949 and he served in the U.S. Marines. Norman married Marian Gillen on August 10, 1957 at St. Peters Catholic Church, Caledonia. He worked for the Houston County Highway Department and was a member of the Houston County VFW and St. Mary's Parish, Caledonia.
He is survived by his wife Marian of Caledonia, 3 sons, Joseph (Andrea) Corpstein and their children, Aaron, Benjamin and Miriam of Arden Hills, MN; Mark (June) Corpstein and their children Jennifer and Adam of New Brighton, MN; and Jim Corpstein and his children, Sara and David of Spring Grove, MN; and a sister Joanne (Donald) Engstler of Caledonia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am on Friday, Sept 23 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif will officiate and burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Thurs., at Holy Family Hall, next to the church with a prayer service at 7 pm. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia is assisting the family with arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
